Healthy Indoor Air
Indoor Air Quality starts with clean ductwork. The ductwork is attached to your air conditioning and heating system, which delivers air throughout the home. If you haven’t had your ducts cleaned in 3-5 years, your family is breathing in years of particulate build up.
In the lab test of the debris in the ductwork, 60% came from indoors and 40% came from dirt and other organic materials tracked in from outside. That indoor 60% included skin cells, hair, pet fur & dander, dust, allergens & pollens, carpet fibers, candle & fireplace soot, bacterial spores, microbial growth, and more…)
When the AC or Heating system shuts off, the air-borne particulates settle, build up and even grow in the ductwork over the years.

Dirty Ducts vs. The Rotobrush
Dust and debris have no chance against the most powerful Rotobrush to date – The “BEAST”, has a system of rotating Bristol brushes with an attached HEPA (high-efficiency particle air) filtered, high-powered vacuum and a digital scope camera.
Don’t be lured into cheap cleaning deals that only use a negative air vacuum to suck out the dust. Surface agitation is the superior method.

To get you back to your regularly scheduled daily activities with minimal interruption and downtime, there are a few things you can do in advance to prepare for the duct cleaning. Taking care of these simple tasks before the team arrives will help ensure they can access and clean your ductwork thoroughly and quickly.
🛋️ Move furniture blocking vents | Your duct cleaning tech will need to roll in a machine and put up A-Ladders to access all vents in your home. Make sure they can access. For your property protection, the techs and not allowed to move furniture. |
🏠 Give a home tour | Make sure to show your technician all rooms of your home when they arrive. You don’t want them to miss any vents. |
🪜 Know where to find your HVAC system | Duct cleaning involves your air handler and plenums, which are usually next to your furnace. Clear a path to this equipment, whether it’s in your attic, basement, garage, or utility closet. |
⏰ Choose a convenient time | Duct cleaners will make some noise and need to visit all rooms of your home. So don’t schedule your appointment during baby’s naptime or your important Zoom meeting. |
🐈 Secure pets | Keep pets in their crate or arrange for daycare the day of the appointment. The loud noise might freak them out, and your technician may open the front door frequently. |
👉 Share areas of concern | If your child’s bed or another sensitive item is directly under an air vent, consider moving it and covering it with a tarp. Tell your technician about areas you’d like them to avoid or pay special attention to. |
🪛 They will remove your vent grills and vacuum. (they do not wash or scrub grills) | Your cleaner will take all your vent grates off to access the ductwork. They will also clean the vent grates – they have tools to remove and put them back safely. |
🩹 They will fix small leaks | If your duct cleaner locates any visible air leaks in your ducts, they fix them if possible. If the repair is severe, they will prepare an estimate for additional scope of repairs. |
🌪️ Expect minor residual debris | Air duct cleaning can create debris, but your technician will use drop cloths to minimize impact during the process. |
😊 No tips, just compliments | If you’re happy with the job, leaving a positive online review for the company is always nice. You can also share referrals with friends and neighbors looking to have their air ducts cleaned. |
