Frequently Asked Questions
The Warranty on the primary/secondary condensate drain blow-out is 30 days.
Microbial growth can accumulate and grow at different rates depending on the weather. When temperatures are mild and the system is not running, it’s not flushing out the growth in the drain lines. It’s not unusual to see condensate drain blockages in the Spring and again in the Fall.
Quarterly add a cup of vinegar to the primary condensate drain. This will help lower standing microbial growth.
Get your unit maintenance twice a year. Maintenance INCLUDES primary and secondary (over flow) line flushing.
Keeping a drain line clear is much easier and less expensive than having a blocked line cleared.
Visit our Thermostat Support page under the Services Menu.
YouTube also has many wonderful video guides and tutorials on all makes of thermostats if yours is not listed here.
Our installation labor warranty is one year from installation date on workmanship of the equipment installation. This is separate from the manufacturer’s PARTS warranty on the equipment installed.
Labor policy applies only to workmanship on installed equipment does not include condensate drain blockages or clearing or copper refrigerant line leaks (unless we installed them).
Extended labor policies are available up to 24 months post system installation. There is an additional fee for the labor policy. Labor policies cover the labor for any manufacturers part replacement or repair.
Extended labor does not apply for recommended regular, seasonal maintenance or to repairs needed outside the actual equipment (ductwork, plumbing issues like condensate drain blockages or electrical issues (breakers/electric control panel). Labor policy ONLY applies to the repair or replacement of a failed manufactures part or component.

System Maintenance:
My system is new, so why should it need a tune-up?
In the Spring, prior to Summer’s peak demand, we’ll wash clean the outside condensing coils, flush clear the condensate drain lines, check all electrical components, and refrigerant levels. This will ensure your system is working to its optimal ability.
Drain lines in particular can easily become clogged with microbial growth and cause the system to shut down.
Any weak components, parts, leaks or issues discovered, will be documented, photographed and discussed with you prior to any action. Maintenance allows us to document and create a history on your system. As the system ages, we’ll have a better idea of how to keep it optimized based on its service history.
We’ll return in the Fall to perform testing and maintenance on your heating system ensuring you stay cozy and warm during our brief San Antonio winters.
Visit our maintenance page for a description of the services provided in a precision tune-up.

Registered before Aug. 1, 2011 NOT TRANSFERABLE
The warranty transfer option became available to Trane owners on Aug. 1, 2011. That meant any warranty registered on or after that date was eligible for transfer. Because these warranties were registered before that date, they can’t be transferred.
Registered from Aug. 1, 2011 to Dec. 31, 2020- TRANSFERABLE
These warranties can be transferred because they were registered on or after Aug. 1, 2011 – the date when Trane warranties became eligible for transfer. If you’re interested in transferring your warranty, you have to do it within 90 days of selling your home. Call Trane Warranty Registration Center at 1-(855) 260-2975 to get started.
Registered on or after Jan. 1, 2021 –NOT TRANSFERABLE
The warranty transfer option ended on Dec. 31, 2020. Because these warranties were registered after that date, they aren’t eligible for transfer. As of Jan. 1, 2021, Trane owners are no longer required to register their warranties.
Effective 1/1/2022, Trane residential products will need to be registered within 60 days of installation for the full limited warranty (typically 10 years). Equipment that is not registered will default to the base 5 year warranty. Our communication states that warranty transfers within 90 days of a home sale will cost $99. However per Texas HB 2110, no fees are allowed for manufacturer’s warranty transfer on residential air conditioning equipment installed on or after 9/1/21.

For newly installed systems, pair the 10 or 12 year Manufacturers Parts Warranty with a 10 or 12 year Extended Labor Warranty for worry-free ownership.
Extended labor policies are available for purchase up to 24 months post system installation. There is an additional fee for the labor policy. Labor policies cover the labor associated with any manufacturer’s part replacement or repair.
As the system ages, any repairs or parts that need replacing in the next 10 years are covered by the manufacturer and this extra policy covers the labor associated to complete the repair or replace the part provided by the manufacturer. with the equipment parts or repairs.
What’s not covered:
1. Electrical issues outside the equipment, like a breaker in the home’s control panel
2. Plumbing issues, like a blocked condensate drain line & the float switches added by TemperaturePro to act as system safety cut-offs.
3. Handling fees charged by the parts supply house may apply
4. Seasonal tune-ups or annual maintenance to the system is recommended to keep the system in manufacturer’s warranty compliance. Neglected or unmaintained equipment may be denied the manufacturer’s warranty coverage.

If your air filters are 1″ deep, you should change them at a minimum quarterly or 4 times a year.
If you have allergies or lots of people & pets of carpet in the home, your indoor air quality would benefit from changing the filter(s) monthly.
If your system has a 5″ media cabinet at the unit that holds a 4″ filter, the manufacturers recommend replacing every 6 month.
If your home has lots of activity, kids, pets, cooking, you’ll need to change the filters more often than a home without kids, carpet, or pets.
A restricted filter will cause the system’s compressor to work harder & draw more amps. than necessary resulting in higher utility bills. It can also cause the evaporator coil (inside unit) to freeze over if air flow is not able to move over the coil due to a clogged filter.
